AirDoor Picks Up Two Awards at CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2026

VES, is celebrating a successful evening at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2026, securing two prestigious wins for its patented, market-leading entrance air management solution – AirDoor.

More than 600 professionals from across the building services industry gathered at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge on 5 March to celebrate outstanding achievements, with the ceremony hosted by comedian Maisie Adams.

AirDoor has been recognised across the manufacturing, HVAC and energy sectors for its innovative approach to preventing weather-related infiltration and improving indoor environments. At this year’s awards, AirDoor received recognition in two key categories:

Product or Innovation of the Year – Wellbeing
Product or Innovation of the Year – Air Quality

The judges highlighted how AirDoor addresses a longstanding challenge faced by many commercial buildings with open entrances or high footfall.

“Many buildings, for commercial reasons, prefer to have open entrances or reception lobbies with near constant traffic through the doors. Typically, these spaces are uncomfortable. The current solution of a heated door curtain leads to high heat loss. The AirDoor product provides improved comfort and performance with lower heat loss,” the judges said.

They also praised the system’s versatility and commercial appeal:

“The technology’s versatility is particularly impressive – equally effective in heating and cooling applications, and valuable for both tenants and operators across the retail sector. It tackles a seemingly small problem with wide-ranging impact, offering strong commercial appeal through rapid payback and broad potential for adoption.”

These accolades highlight AirDoor’s ability to solve a longstanding challenge in commercial buildings: weather infiltration, energy loss and poor indoor air quality caused by open doorways. Unlike traditional air curtains, AirDoor uses advanced aerodynamics, real-time sensors and intelligent controls to create a thermal barrier that keeps conditioned indoor air in and the elements out – improving comfort, strengthening indoor air quality and delivering up to 95% energy savings.

The recognition from the CIBSE Building Performance Awards, one of the most respected events in the building services industry, builds on a strong run of industry recognition for AirDoor, developed in collaboration with Wirth Research, including recent wins at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards, BESA Awards, and Energy Saving Awards. These latest accolades further reinforce AirDoor’s growing reputation as an innovative solution for improving building performance.
