Summary

Purpose of role

To effectively help manage the day-to-day running’s of the Stores & Warehouse area. Working accurately and paying attention to detail so to ensure all orders are picked, processed and dispatched quickly and efficiently, preventing delays to production/delivery to site. To work closely with other departments that are responsible for fulfilling orders and meeting customer delivery expectations. To facilitate and supervise the movement of goods, ensuring product in securely stored and packaged to meet company standards and loaded on to vehicles with complete care to ensure quality is delivered to our clients. To ensure all incoming deliveries are recorded and stored properly, to allow easy identification and retrieval.

Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Support in client requests, booking in stock and storing ready for inspection.
  • Support change note requests.
  • Support the management team in day-to-day coordination and management of warehouse activities.
  • Log all supplier/courier damage and complaints to the logistics or procurement departments.
  • Ensure accurate communication with all relevant departments on any factors which will impact on delivery and quality to our clients.
  • Monitor workflows identify kit when ready for next process/ chase up relevant areas for completion of said process.
  • To identify and evaluate quality problems and to initiate, recommend and provide effective solutions.
  • To ensure that all jobs that have been successfully inspected are wrapped, identified and adequately protected to prevent damage and/or loss of items during transport to the customer.
  • To photograph all goods dispatching VES HQ, attaching photo to sales orders and saving in agreed G drive location.
  • Liaise with relevant departments regarding the daily and advanced Dispatch schedules to ensure efficient and effective Dispatch of goods from our premises.
  • Carry out regular cycle counts, highlighting stock discrepancies.
  • Perform all general aspects of physical Dispatch requirements including packing of goods, movement of goods, holding of goods and loading of goods on to vehicles.
  • Co-ordinate vehicle loading in accordance with booked time slots.
  • Meet and greet drivers on arrival and issue documentation.
  • Ensure data base is kept up to date with all relevant data and goods are booked out successfully in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all items received by goods in are checked for damage, labelled and stored in relevant locations.
  • Highlight any stock discrepancies, to relevant supplier and raise DORs where necessary.
  • Pick work orders first time and escalate when WO requires repicks.

Other:

  • Ensure all Production picks and ancillary items for dispatch are picked 24 hours prior to dispatch (If feasible).
  • To ensure that all jobs that have been successfully inspected are wrapped, identified and adequately protected to prevent damage and/or loss of items during transport to the customer.
  • Perform all general aspects of physical dispatch requirements including packing of goods, movement of goods, holding of goods and loading of goods on to vehicles.
  • Support in client requests, booking in stock and storing ready for inspection.
  • Support with ongoing training and development.
  • Maintain the companies Health and Safety policy’s and ensure all staff are practicing good health and safety awareness and always wearing PPE.
  • All other reasonable requests made by your line manager.
  • To be flexible with overtime where needed to support the department.
