Summary

Roles and responsibilities

  • Safe product movement, storage & loading to prevent damage to stock, defects & support resolution 
  • Conduct regular inspections of storage facilities, plant & equipment to ensure suitability and safety is maintained & recorded. 
  • Stores, warehouse facilities (internal and external) and yards are maintained and manged in a clean and safe manner. 
  • Ensures compliance with Health & Safety Regulations of team members, maintaining their awareness through regular communication. Ensures relevant risk assessments are in place as required 
  • Ensure the safety of staff & visitors in this environment & record & develop 5 S lean principles 
  • Deliver Safety briefing information to Teams through TBT & Safety Boards

£27,166 - £40,206

Description

Quality

  • Effectively manage Goods in, coordinating appropriate quality checks against purchase orders & managing any defects in quality or quantity with key stakeholders to prevent impact to manufacturing schedules and customers. 
  • Ensure all product is stored and appropriately protected to prevent damage or deterioration 
  • Plan future and manage storage capacity requirements. 
  • Ensure outgoing goods are packaged and loaded to specifications. 
  • Deliver team briefings, ensuring all staff are clear on company strategy objectives, performance and priorities. Encourages a culture of continuous improvement and information sharing, encouraging team members to raise new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Ensure all goods are identified with part numbers, delivery dates & batch control methods, with appropriate rotation in place where required. 
  • Preservation of Product, stock & goods in & maintain last in 1st?out policy alongside 5S techniques regarding work organization & work environment 
  • Responsible for manpower and succession planning to build an effective team of Supervisors capable of ensuring employee safety, discipline & training of teams is maintained. 

Productivity

  • Ensure the efficient picking of and delivery goods on time in full to suit the operational plan. 
  • Monitor and review the storage of goods and adjust layouts to make the picking process more effective. 
  • Coordinate despatch to minimise bottlenecks within the factory and yard. 
  • Plan and execute cyclic and annual stock take to support accurate inventory control. 
  • Creates and monitors improvement plans to drive down process time whilst maximising productivity.

Cost 

  • Utilise the most suitable haulage option for outward despatch. 
  • Ensure goods are preserved and appropriately protected to prevent deterioration or damage. 
  • Manage warehouse spacing both internally and externally to ensure associated costs are minimised. 
  • Work with stakeholder to monitor and manage inventory levels 
  • Development of investment plans and justifications for capital expenditure in ROI. 
  • Work with stakeholders to manage inventory levels.
