Summary

Purpose of role

To create, implement and maintain systems and processes to streamline internal sales, and use them to measure and drive sustainable success and improvement across the internal sales teams.

To provide leadership and guidance to the internal sales management team, maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.

To build strong working relationships between sales department and other VES departments, focusing on improved communication through project lifecycles.

Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Internal Sales Office, overseeing a team of Internal Sales Engineers. Conduct monthly 1-1 meetings and annual inVESt conversations, with a strong focus on personal development, team morale, and the achievement of agreed team KPIs.
  • Ensure structured training and development plans are in place for all the team, providing regular feedback and coaching to improve capability, productivity, and overall team performance.
  • Work collaboratively with External Sales Management to develop, implement, and deliver an effective sales plan aligned to business objectives, supported by clear monthly and quarterly action plans.
  • Compile, analyse, and report on Internal Sales performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, using a defined set of Key Performance Indicators aligned with the wider Sales Strategy.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for all Internal Sales activities, working closely with key departments including Operations, Design, Accounts, and Manufacturing to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and disciplinary processes within the Sales Office, ensuring appropriate resourcing and high standards of conduct and performance.
  • Maintain and promote the company’s Health and Safety policies, ensuring all team members are aware of their responsibilities and operate in line with Health and Safety requirements.
