Summary

Purpose of role

The Regional Sales Engineer is an experienced sales professional that works to develop new and existing relationships and expand sales revenue within a targeted geographic area. The focus will be on developing a pipeline with a mixture of new and existing consultants and contractors, to deliver bespoke customer-driven solutions for competitive advantage through product differentiation. There will be a focus on the Education, Healthcare, Service and Leisure sector

Roles and responsibilities

  • Developing existing customers - Grow accounts already interacting with VES and use account planning as a way of understanding where any gaps are and what actions can be taken to further develop the user experience.
  • Prospecting new business - Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships - Increase market share of VES with new Mechanical consultants and M+E Contractors, within their regional area.
  • Stakeholder collaboration - Take ownership and involve the company personnel, including support, service, sales, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customer’s expectations.
  • Customer excellence - Provide the highest level of service with customer needs coming first at all stages of their journey with a clear understanding of their requirements and how VES can overcome their challenges.
  • Customer Journey - Offer a personalised and problem-free customer journey which provides excellence at every point of their experience, so their expectations are always exceeded. Here, the relevant technical and commercial information is always captured accurately, and a proactive approach is always taken once the customer has received their quotation to further satisfy their needs.
  • Negotiation and objection handling - Gaining customer commitment by handling any objections and overcoming any issues, so that they choose to place the order with VES over our competitors.
  • Repeat business - Drive repeat business and customer retention to create long-lasting profitable relationships.
  • Sales key performance indicators - Agreed number of visits per week to customer base. Maintain and grow sales pipeline. Achieve Sales Revenue Targets. Develop & Maintain Customer relationships. Utilise CRM as a Sales Tool.
  • Market and competitor knowledge - Develop an understanding of the market within the geographic area and act provide a regional account plan once a quarter to the Head of Sales.
  • Technical Expertise – Enhance technical understanding through building experience and knowledge of VES solutions and HVAC industry, becoming an expert in ventilation to support customer demands.

Company Communication and IT Requirements

  • To provide regular and consistent updates on company CRM software in line with company expectations.

    • Regular updates and notes on all live projects including current activities around highlighting future tasks.
    • All appointments to be loaded against relevant opportunities or contacts within accounts.
    • All information relating to estimated close dates, project values and other relevant sales data is up to date and as accurate as possible.
  • To capably use company IT equipment to access, utilise, and respond to live published data and instructions given by line managers / directors
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by your Line Manager.
