Summary

Purpose of role

Working within key stakeholders, you will be the environmental lead for our business operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, robust environmental management systems and delivery of key sustainability objectives. You’ll be central to enhancing environmental performance, advising on best practice, mitigating risks, and supporting continuous improvement to minimise environmental risk and ensure operational excellence.

To assist with the compliance systems and processes, development as related to ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental standards; to ensure our production operations, from raw materials to finished products and services, meet the optimal quality and environmental integrity, efficiency, and legal standards for our business.

£26,993 - £31,491

Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Act as a catalyst/driving force in the maintenance of the organisation’s ISO 9001 and 14001 compliance criteria, ensuring that the standard is completely integrated within the organisation, at all levels.
  • Support sustainability projects and liaise with external bodies on environmental matters.
  • Investigate and contribute to the setting and maintenance of quality and environmental management standards within the business.
  • Collaborate on the establishment, review, negotiation and agreement of all in-house quality and environmental policies, processes, procedures, standards and/or specifications to ensure they are effective and designed to achieve the best outcome for the business.
  • Promote the use of process-based approach and risk / opportunity-based thinking.
  • Record, analyse and communicate statistical information, at all levels, to identify trends, monitor and measure performance and assess the effectiveness of strategic action plans designed to enable continuous improvement.
  • Identify organisational / departmental training gaps / needs, ensuring development opportunities are capitalised on. Seek understanding and awareness on what is required to foster an improved quality / environmentally conscious culture throughout the organisation.
  • Assist with the creation, review, implementation, and assessments of business development plans in line with the organisational and/or departmental strategic approaches to ensure effective implementation.
  • Promote effective customer focused activities within the organisation to ensure customer satisfaction is given the high level of importance it needs to have.
  • Document control and management – creating, storing, organising, tracking and distribution of key documents to be always readily available.
  • Continuous review of media utilisation within the role, to ensure these are effective, automated and provide a suitable platform from which the most efficient, effective and streamlined reporting can be achieved.
  • Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and of the business’ quality and environmental management systems, including calibration, Non-conformity Reports and Development Opportunity Reports.
  • To ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that VES complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
