Project Manager

Summary

Purpose of role

Project Managers should ideally have a background in engineering or site works. An understanding of installation and refurbishment projects in a HVAC or retail environment would be an advantage. You will take day to day responsibility of the project management requirements of the geographical area you are working within including the staff employed to deliver these projects. You will be a good team player capable of following company procedures but also prepared to think your way around problems and adapt safely to ensure projects progress. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks and clients.

Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and sub-contractors for the successful execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Working from the Sales and Technical information provided, but also a close understanding of your client, you will ensure that all aspects of their specification, requirements and expectations are carried out and executed to the highest standards.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage holiday requests
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Report weekly project progress to the Head of Projects and escalate any issues that the Leadership team and board need to be aware of
  • Assess your sites and produce all necessary Risks and Method Statements
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with your clients and sub-contractors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation through to final handover
  • Carry out pre-start meetings, site inspections and handovers as required by the project
  • Monitor monthly revenue expectations from your projects and ensure the senior retail manager is made aware quickly of any significant movements in revenue
  • Maintain the morale and effectiveness of your site teams.
  • Manage and promote the highest standards of safety and quality on your sites and assist the senior retail projects manager by identifying any training and procedural changes that will improve overall standards.
