Summary

To successfully maintain the manufacturing schedules and improve efficiencies. To contribute towards the manufacturing strategy of "On time in full, at Best Quality, Lowest Total Cost, Shortest Lead Time and High Morale"; through optimising production flow by eliminating any waste.

Description

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Operating Bystronic Press Brake within a manufacturing environment, constructing our product, whilst conforming to our standard operating procedures and policies.
  • To review the technical drawings and all documents for use and reference during folding while maintaining quality controls as per SOPs.
  • Use of checking procedures to inspect work throughout the manufacturing processes, reporting shortages and defects to your manufacturing Senior Operative or Team Leader to effectively come to a resolution to prevent impacting on time delivery at best quality.
  • Using Quality control mechanisms to raise DORs to achieve on time in full through machines.
  • To assist with rework of piece parts or final assemblies as and when required ensuring quality standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure all tools and working area are respected and maintained, to keep clean and tidy and free from hazards.
  • To assist in the development of new and improved products and offering constructive feedback and input to enhance the development or better the products features and build qualities.
  • Ensures quality compliance to customer specifications and standards.
  • Supports the Manufacturing team with flexibility in resources to aid planning.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement and information sharing, encouraging team members to discuss new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Ensures compliance with Health & Safety Regulations of team members, maintaining their awareness through regular communication. Ensures relevant risk assessments are in place as required.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Machine line manager.
