Hours Per Week: 37.5 per week (7am -3pm) Monday to Friday with 30 mins unpaid lunch break

Purpose of role

This role serves to provide a consistent testing process within controls QC through the inspection and operational testing of control panels assembled by the manufacturing team to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Where required, controls test engineers will assist with rework and advise on remedial actions for control panel errors to assist with continuous improvement.

Description

Role and responsibilities

  • Inspect completed panels to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment in line with safety standards outlined by company policies, departmental procedures and guidelines.
  • To maintain a clean, tidy and safe work place, within all areas of the department.
  • To record stages of test and inspection and time taken on the appropriate forms and on Microsoft AX.
  • Provide build and manufacture guidance to controls production department where required to assist in the build process.
  • To record any changes or deviations from the work documentation identified during construction. Any changes to be agreed by the Controls Design & Test Manager prior to modification.
  • Testing and inspection of completed products from the controls production department.
  • Visual inspection of completed control panels to conform to manufacturing standards and designs.
  • Point-to-point testing of electrical components.
  • Safety checks of electrical testing equipment.
  • Ensuring the safe use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Completing electrical inspection and testing of low voltage switch gear using up to 415Vac 3 phase supplies.
  • Functionality and operational testing of the control panel and PLC software against the design specifications.
  • Completion of electronic and paper based documentation to ensure an accurate record of testing is available.
  • Recording of all faults and errors on an electronic log, specifically DOR system and process, and providing constructive feedback to the relevant persons or departments.
  • Fault finding within the control panel build and rework to resolve where this falls within the defines of the department SOP.
  • To undertake any reasonable task requested by the Controls Design & Test Manager and Controls QC Team Leader.
  • To undertake any reasonable additional tasks requested by Senior staff. This may involve an amount of out of hours working or aiding elsewhere within the company.
