Controls Production Specialist

Summary

To manufacture control panels and components for the heating and ventilation and associated industries. To test and inspect control panels assembled by the manufacturing team to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards, to the highest quality standards.

Description

Role and responsibilities:

  • To work within a product focused team and assist with the production of manufacturing the specified product, conforming to Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards.
  • Ensuring targets for Production KPIs, including but not limited to Labour Efficiency, run times (routes) and Quality Standards, are met and issues escalated to the Manufacturing Team Leaders or Management.
  • To maintain or improve quality standards, continually inspect work during the production process and report any concerns.
  • To check and issue job packs prior to issue for assembly.
  • To construct control panels and associated components, accurately and within predetermined route times.
  • Inspect completed panels to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards, to the highest Quality Standards.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment in line with safety standards outlined by company policies, departmental procedures, and guidelines.
  • To maintain a clean, tidy and safe workplace, within all areas of the department.
  • To maintain AX Microsoft Dynamics record to reflect real time production. 
  • Testing and visual inspection of completed control panels to conform to Manufacturing Quality Standards and Designs, including point-to-point testing of electrical components.
  • Safety checks of electrical testing equipment.
  • Ensuring the safe use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Completing electrical inspection and testing of low voltage switch gear using up to 415Vac 3 phase supplies.
  • Functionality and operational testing of the control panel and PLC software against the design specifications.
  • Recording of internal faults via the fault log procedure within AX Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Using the DOR process when errors found outside of the department and or require action by others.
  • To assist in the development of new and improved techniques and procedures used in the manufacturing environment.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and observe all the safety rules to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others.
  • To assist Manufacturing Management with the review of routes to the drawings prior to manufacturing commencing
  • Assist the team in solving issues that arise within the environment during assembly and test.
  • Supports the smooth introduction of new products into the manufacturing.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and information sharing, encouraging team members to raise new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Support with the onboarding and staff training for new employees.
  • To undertake any reasonable task requested by your Management or Team Leader.
