Purpose of role
To successfully maintain the manufacturing schedules and improve efficiencies. To contribute towards the manufacturing strategy of “On time in full, at Best Quality, Lowest Total Cost, Shortest Lead Time and High Morale; through optimising production flow by eliminating any waste. To provide support and training to new and existing team members. Assist in development and improvement of the control panels.

Roles and responsibilities
- To construct control panels, fan assemblies and associated components, accurately and within predetermined route times.
- Inspect completed panels to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Working with your Controls Manager to support the daily production plans to ensure build are on track to meet agreed end dates.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment in line with safety standards outlined by company policies, departmental procedures and guidelines.
- To mentor and offer technical support to a small group of controls operatives within the control’s environment.
- To maintain and improve best quality standards, inspecting throughout the control panel build, reporting any concerns to the Controls Manager to effectively come to a resolution to prevent impacting on time delivery at best quality.
- To assist with rework of control panels as and when required ensuring quality standards are adhered to.
- Using the manufacturing WorkCentre to support the overall co-ordination of the Manufacturing departments activities, to ensure the achievement of schedules and consistent delivery of internal and external Key Performance Indicators. See and follow work centre management procedure.
- Ensure the manufacturing WorkCentre reflects the physical state through Production order control, status, ensuring hours of work are posted daily.
- Assist the manufacturing Manager in identifying route times so the information can be feedback to help drive accurate route times at time of scheduling.
- To review the control panel drawing prior to build with your Operatives, ensuring all required materials are present to meet the agreed build plan unless otherwise agreed.
- All Production areas kept tidy and organised, ensuring operatives keep their bays and surrounding areas clear and tidy. All tools are locked away and kept well maintained.
- To assist in the development of new and improved products, and offering constructive feedback and input to enhance the development or better the products feature and build qualities.
- To assist in the development and training of new and improved techniques and procedures used in the manufacturing environment.
- To support and conduct new staff onboarding and training to meet agreed efficiency levels in agreed time frames.
- To maintain a clean, tidy and safe workplace, within all areas of the department.
- To record stages of production and time taken on the appropriate forms and on Microsoft AX.
- Any changes to be agreed by the Controls Manager prior to modification.
- To undertake any reasonable task requested by the Controls Manager.
- To undertake any reasonable additional tasks requested by Senior staff. This may involve off-site working, an amount of out-of-hours working or aiding elsewhere within the company.
