Summary
Purpose of role
The purpose of this role is to drive a step-change improvement in Production performance which will deliver the levels of yield and quality necessary to meet our customers’ expectations, support the company’s strategic plan and manufacturing strategy of On Time In Full (OTIF). Key to this will be improving the competency and discipline of the team and the standardisation of current processes to reflect industry best practice through Best Quality – Lowest Total Cost – Shortest Lead Time – High Morale and optimising production flow by eliminating waste.

Roles and responsibilities
- Ensures the efficient day-to-day operation of the department to consistently deliver on internal and external KPI’s, managing costs within the agreed budget.
- Ensures quality compliance to customer specifications and standards. Creates and monitors improvement plans to drive down process time whilst maximising productivity.
- Develop and track improvement in reduction of DOR's. Raising the DOR's based on the discovered issue with the data provided for the design.
- Responsible for manpower and succession planning to build an effective team of Supervisors and Team Leaders, capable of ensuring employee discipline is maintained and procedures are followed consistently.
- Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedures for all departments' operations.
- Ensures all team members are appropriately trained to carry out their role effectively and developed to ensure consistent delivery of the required performance.
- Plan training for new starters and the development of team.
- Participate in development of team and carry out 121’s and InVESt conversations on a regular basis to maximise performance within the team.
- Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication and be able to motivate the team.
- Deliver regular (at least monthly) team briefings, ensuring all staff are clear on company strategy, objectives, performance and priorities. Encourages a culture of continuous improvement and information sharing, encouraging team members to raise new ideas and challenge the status quo.
- Support the plans for the smooth introduction of new products into the manufacturing area / factory.
- Ensures compliance with Health & Safety Regulations of team members, maintaining their awareness through regular communication. Ensures relevant risk assessments are in place as required.
