Purpose of role

The Technical Estimator is an experienced technical professional that works to provide support to the External Sales team.  The role brings knowledge and experience to the sales functions that are key to securing and delivering successful projects.

Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Logging RQ enquiries onto CRM and AX correctly and efficiently.
  • Chasing up existing quotations issued by themselves and the team.
  • Provide quotation to suit site investigation and post installation commissioning as entry level to the quotation aspect of the business.
  • Carry out project conversion from RQ’s to PJA’s, liaise with projects and provide handovers.
  • Attend site visits with Technical Estimators and representatives to gain on hand training.
  • Shadow internally to ensure full competency for quotations and processing.
  • Liaise with the Projects team to understand process flow through the business.
  • Complete training in different areas of the building to gain a full understanding of how VES works and what products VES supply to the market and what services VES offer.
  • Update CRM to ensure all services quotations/orders/lost quotes are completely up to date.
  • Assist the Internal Service Team where and when necessary.

  • To provide regular and consistent updates on company CRM software in line with company expectations 

  Including (but not limited to):

  • Regular updates and notes on all live opportunities
  • All appointments and other sales activities to be loaded against relevant opportunities or accounts
  • Ensuring all information relating to estimated close dates, project values and other relevant sales data is up to date and as accurate as possible
  • To capably use company IT equipment to access, utilise, and respond to live published data and instructions given by line managers / directors
  • To take personal responsibility for training/improving IT skills to keep up with technology systems in use.
  • VES will provide training on all new company specific software initiatives, however a working knowledge of basic hardware and Microsoft Suite is a minimum expectation. Once specific training has been given, any further training require is the responsibility of the individual.
